RIF's #BeBookSmart Fundraiser with Macy's Kicks Off Next Week

Here at Kidlitosphere Central, we are big fans of Reading is Fundamental, an organization that helps get books into the hands of children in underserved communities around the United States. RIF’s #BeBookSmart fundraising initiative with Macy’s kicks off next week, and we wanted to tell you about it here.

Participation is simple. From June 21 - July 12, go to Macy’s and donate $3, which is enough for RIF to buy a book for a child. Macy’s will then give you a coupon for $10 off a $30 purchase and an extra discount coupon. 100% of your $3 donation goes to RIF.

And that’s it. By participating, you help RIF with their mission:

“Reading Is Fundamental delivers free books and literacy resources to children and families in underserved communities in the United States. By giving children the opportunity to own a book, RIF inspires them to become lifelong readers and achieve their full potential.”

You can also participate by spreading the word on social media (which we’ll be doing from the @KidLitCon accounts), using the #BeBookSmart hashtag.
